Letter For Shira

IMG_6670-1

Arundhati Kayanashira,

Let your self love literature, poetry and all those beautiful things for your mind and soul. Read not just cheesy novel by Sidney Sheldon or Sandra Brown , but introduce yourself to Kundera’s or Neruda’s or other remarkable writings by remarkable writers ( such as Nawal el Sadawi, Khaleed Khosseini or the one I took as your name, Arundhati Roy. Phew, I can go on and on with the list now, baby…).

As a start, you can read Enid Blyton’s, darling. Her writings are simple yet imaginative. Trust me. Then you can read Dahl’s, with his famous Charlie and Chocolate Factory, Matilda or The Witches. Read Pramoedya’s, Sapardi Djoko Damono’s or Sitok Srengenge’s beautiful pieces. Read beautiful works from genius writers, because I believe that’s the key to rich soul. And you shall read the ever well known comics like Tintin, Smurf and the likes, then play with your imagination.  Let it go, let it breath and inspired you to dream.

Smart and genius people are everywhere, they can do excellent math, chemistry or geography. It’s definitely ok being one.But believe me,  being genius alone is not that important. Be a smart one who can appreciate beautiful things for your mind and soul (likes, be an engineer who knows who Orhan Pamuk is 😀 ).

Learn to know about good poetry. You don’t have to be madly in love with it. But I wish you know the slightest sides of it. Believe me,books, poem and the likes, somehow… will enriched being you as a human. Not just a person.

Your daddy and I have this dream (and we’re working on it) to let you see the world. Slowly, we want to take you travel seeing the beauty of your lovely country as well as other countries. Love your country and its beauty while it last. Transporting your self to places. See the natures. Breath the air and feel the breeze.  Touch the sand and enjoy the sun. Feel the vibration of the city or even a village every time you travel. Learn history and its mystery. Don’t take travel as luxury, because me and your daddy believes, it is one of the key to introduce you to the other side of life as well as learning more about differences and people. (so down with weekend shopping at Singapore :P).

Learn cultures and people, to appreciate more about differences. This world is already a cruel place caused by racist pigs and narrow minded people with radical ideology, who think they have the ultimate and utmost truth based on their own judgment. So, open your window of life as wide as you can. See the world, see everything outside your box. Be brave to explore the beauty of this life. Don’t just stay at home, do your home work and enough. Sure it’s important, but be a ‘smart-adventurous’ nerd. Make friends as many as you can. Go outside and ride your bike!

Learn from life as well as other people’s life. See it with your eyes, take the good side of others as your lesson as well. Remember honey…, other people’s life journey is a fairy tale for your lesson of life, too.

We don’t want to splurge you for luxurious things. We don’t want you be one of those materialistic – hedonistic people. Education on our top list for sure. But it’s not enough. We believe books and travels are among other things on our priority that we want to give you

So pumpkin pie, I hope you love life and its beauty. Appreciate the wonderful things in this life. Love your life and life it self. Be who you are. Love your self for being who you are. But most of all, be human!

Vintage-Antique and All That Memories

DSC_4467DSC_4550My love for traditional fabric grows through times. Blame my late grandmother.

Supaya matching, saya kenakan Padma Bag from Nyai warna merah juga. Hohohoho 😀 (see pictures above)

DSC_4565Hari kedua, masih temanya kain. Atasannya kebaya model kutu baru kreasi sendiri (tapi bukan dijahit sendiri pastinya. Wong kalau jahit kancing aja mencong’ kok :P). Kainnya? Kain sarung encim Pekalongan, buketan style. Dan kemudian saya ‘rampok’ sejak awal tahun 2000-an. (gak modal banget sih ya…)

It’s about  another vintage stuff. Kebaya model kutubaru, milik almarhum nenek yang kemudian saya kecilkan. Tapi sengaja saya mengenakan jeans supaya beda. And I wore lovely necklace from IJWC (Indonesia Wire Jewelry Community). I’m telling you, they have wide selection of pretty accessories , semuanya dibuat dari batu alam druzy dengan warna-warna cantik. Handmade, dikombinasikan kawat-kawat cantik aneka warna. Bukan pakai kawat pagar loh. Kawat yang mereka gunakan cantik-cantik. Ada brass wire, copper wire, beading wire and the likes. :P. Makanya pas di Indonesia Fashion Week, 3 kalung batu mereka pun jadi berpindah kepemilikan. Hohohoho

DSC_4656Hari terakhir. Masih bertema baju lungsuran (bekas kok bangga, 😀 *jambakrambut*). Kebaya hijau sifon punya almarhum nenek. Celana jeans selutut.

So yes, for 4 days at Indonesia Fashion Week, my theme were vintage. Therefore, I wouldn’t start Nyai. So yes, Nyai has sentimental-melancholic meanings for me. It’s beyond mere business.

R. Emylienda Soendjojo, hopes you are proud of me.  And by the way, granny…. how are you today?

Friday Mood

duhita

Look of the day.

In the mood of wearing basic color . Since it’s going to be a hectic-busy Friday (meetings, finishing report, preparation  to Koloni and all that), capri pants is the perfect choice along with a comfortable white top. And yeah, highlight of the day is: I’m wearing Duhita Lace Bag from Nyai . It will be launched soon!
